The innumerable works of art around the city of Mathura, India depicts that it was Lord Vishnu, one of the gods who form the Hindu Holy Trinity (others being Brahma and Shiva) came as an incarnation to the earth, in order to eradicate evil from earth, which resided in the form of Kansa.
