Geography of Agra

The city of Agra is located in the Northwestern part of the state of Agra, in the Northern part of India. Another important thing to be mentioned about the geography of Agra is that the city is located on the banks of River Yamuna. As Agra is located in the Northwestern part of Uttar Pradesh, to its West lies Rajasthan, to it South lies Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, to its North lies Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal and Jammu and Kashmir, to its East lies Bihar and Jharkhand. Agra is bounded by Mathura to its North, by Dhaulpur to its South, the city of Firozabad lies to its East, to its South-east lies Fatehabad and the Western part of Agra is bounded by Bharatpur.



Speaking about the geography of Agra it one cannot forget to say that the city is located at an elevation of 561 feet from the sea level. Natural assets like river, mountains, hilly areas and mountains are also important parts of geography of Agra. Like all other places in the world, geography of Agra plays the most important role in its weather and climate. People of Agra experience scorching summer and chilly winter. Moderate rainfall occurs in the monsoon.
